NPYM Racial Justice Talk: As a prelude to the NPYM Annual Session, Oregon State Senator Lew Frederick will speak at a specially scheduled virtual meeting on Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m. He will address working for racial justice within the spiritual context of Quakerism. This will be followed up that evening and during the next week with several related Interest Groups. You can register for these at as.npym.org/registration. Details for all of this are still being developed.
Save the Date: Sunday, July 19, 4-5:30 p.m. we’ll host an Aromatherapy Makers Party outdoors at MaryAnn Petersen’s house– for fun, community and health. Socially distanced, with masks. Adult Religious Education Committee.
North Pacific Yearly Meeting Annual Session: Deepening the Roots in Troubled Times. Registration is now open for NPYM’s 2020 Annual Session, which will be held online Wednesday-Sunday, July 22-26. While we won’t be gathering in person, the Planning Committee has been hard at work creating an online event that will include much of what Friends love about Annual Session — Worship Sharing, Interest Groups (starting Friday, July 10), Plenaries, Music, Community Night, Children’s Program, Quaker Fair, and more are all on the schedule. The online format will make it easy for you to attend as much or as little of the programming as you are led to, with plenty of opportunities to connect with Friends and plenty of time for breaks away from the screen. Without the financial and scheduling barriers of gathering in person, we expect to see some Friends who haven’t been able to join in past years and find new, creative ways to connect with one another from afar. Find out more and register at as.npym.org/registration.
